Program Description
Self-defense at Telos isn't a separate program for show. It's woven into every class we teach. The same techniques that work in sport BJJ are the techniques that work when you actually need them, because they're built on leverage, timing, and position rather than size or strength.
We teach awareness before action: how to recognize and avoid dangerous situations, how to de-escalate when you can, and how to protect yourself effectively when you can't. This is martial art as a last resort, not a first response.
Our approach is grounded in reality. There are no flashy techniques that look great in demos but fall apart under pressure. Every position, escape, and submission we teach has been tested in real training against fully resisting partners.
Self-defense skills are most valuable when they become second nature. That comes from consistent training, not from a weekend seminar. Telos is built for the long game.
